Leonard Born 13 May 1914 in 145 Lower Spring Road, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire,
Married in 1944 to Living (Wife's maiden name= Thomas) at Commercial Road Methodist Chapel, Newport.
Leonard (Len) aged 18 Enlisted in royal Tank corp at Stoke-on-Trent recruiting office in 1932,
From 20th April 1940 to 24th June 1940 he fought in France with the 5th Battalion Royal Tank Regiment.
From 24th December 1940 to the 10th September 1943 he fought in Egypt / North Africa (montgomery's 8th Army),
during this campaign he was wounded in action, multiple gunshot wounds, he rejoined unit on the 13th January 1942.
From 13th September 1943 to 14th December 1943 he fought in Italy.
Len wrote his rank and profession on his marriage certificate in 1944 as No-7883739 Warrant Officer Class 2.
Roayal Tank Regiment, and residence at time of marriage-31 Lennox Road, Longton, Stoke On Trent.
Len died on the 31st May 2007 in West Acre, Porthbean Road, Newquay.
